Successful first workshop of our Nordic Sports Innovation 2020 Series (with SDU and supported by Region Syddanmark)

We hosted the first workshop of our Nordic Sports Innovation 2020 Series, a partnership between Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark and Sports Lab Copenhagen, supported by Region Syddanmark.

25 participants, including the 5 amazing startups HUBBSTER, JABII Group, LevelUP Sports, Ubitrack, Pecasu, and 16 students, took part in an online interactive Zoom workshop to work in groups on a specific innovation challenge of each startup.

It is fair to say that the outcome was beyond everyone’s expectations. Most pleasing is to see that ongoing and longer term collaborations between the students and the startups have been established.

> Stay tuned fort the next chapter in the 2020 Series!!!

Feedback from our participants:

“It was great to spend a few hours with the students and work together on a challenge! I'm thinking about our business all the time, however, even within this short time I was able to come out with a whole new perspective on our go-to-market strategy. My favorite part was hearing from some of them that they got inspired by us, entrepreneurs. It made my day!"

Miklas Emody, Founder & CEO, LevelUp Sports

"It was a pleasure to take part in - we got some great insights and have initiated talks about future semester projects"

Kristoffer Greve Nielsen, Head of Communications & PR, JABII Group

"Thank you for giving us this opportunity to meet a brilliant and engaged group of students...I think we have a lot of common ground going forward, and that we both can benefit from continuing the collaboration...The students can provide the research insights and we can provide an opportunity to do live field studies to test out core assumptions about sports and an active lifestyle."

Peter Just, Founder & CEO, Hubbster

"I just had a truly inspiring workshop...In a busy time with my employees not currently being at the office, I was a little nervous about devoting a full day to this digital workshop. My nervousness was put to shame, and our company got so much useful back. Some of the ideas from the students have already gone straight into the pipeline in the development department...This is not the last time that PECASU will take the time for these events."

Peter Bregnhøj, Founder & COO, Pecasu

“It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the workshop! The guys I shared a group with were simply amazing! They were able to understand the company, the business and provide very insightful ideas. I can honestly say that I got quite a lot out of the workshop. When one has spent months, even years developing a product or service and there is an abruptly and profound change in the market switching gears can be challenging. Together with a group of very insightful students we were able to come up with a few interesting approaches which my company is going to test. I have very high confidence that my team will be able to make some of them a market success.”

Nikolay Tashev, Founder & CEO, Ubitrack

"Great to work with real examples and getting an insight into life. Fun to be a part of innovative process and providing input and new angles."

"It's really nice to get the chance to work with actual people doing real work and trying to apply some theory on their project. Super nice!!"

"Great to meet real startups that speak the same "language" in regard to methods and theory. Nice to see what we learn in class makes sense to use in reality."

"Thanks for an excellent workshop, it was a great opportunity to gain insight into Startups. The next day we had a really good follow-up meeting with Hubbster and have started an interesting collaboration! Thank you for introducing us!"
